You may not have heard from us for a while. But it doesn't mean we've been quiet. We've been having a rethink. We have discovered that our most successful courses have been appreciated because they were really immersive. Last year we ran online research courses which gave delegates the chance to sample different bulletin boards and chatrooms for themselves. Experiential learning. So we've decided it is time to change the name. From Mike Imms & Partners to Electric Learning. Same trainers, more immersive courses. Mike Imms will continue to be involved as a trainer. But the baton has passed to Joanna Chrzanowska and John Griffiths - who will put together the programme and draw in other trainers when we need them.
Our first major outing is at the MRS2011 conference. When Joanna and John will be running a workshop exploring crowdsourcing. With a conference first - drawing on experts from 4 different continents - in New York, Shanghai, Prague and Sydney. Its called the Great Crowd Sourcing Experiment - and it epitomises the kind of courses that we want to run. Expert training. But with a strong dose of experiential learning. Participants in the workshop won't hear about crowd sourcing. They'll be doing it. And as they do it will learn from the experts building businesses using it.
There's more in the pipeline which we will announce in the next few weeks. One sneak announcement - we are developing a course which lets you learn about online without leaving your desk. Now we've done this before for a couple of hours. But this course will give you the benefits of a full day training course. Without your needing to leave your desk. Watch this space!
